Each year, thousands of visitors of all ages immerse themselves in free, hands-on exhibits and gain behind-the-scenes access to the university’s world-class collections and research centers.

Since its humble beginnings in 2011, with just three participating collections and 500 visitors, the event has grown into a beloved annual tradition. By 2020, it featured 13 collections and welcomed over 4,000 attendees, all on a shoestring budget. This remarkable success has been made possible by the generous support of UC Davis departments and internal funding from the Chancellor.
